Job summary

Camaco LLC seeks a senior tool room leader to oversee machining, tool & die build/repair, and preventive maintenance for the plant. You will supervise the hourly tool room team, coordinate with engineering, production and quality, and ensure tooling supports efficient manufacturing.

The role requires a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker or a Bachelor's in engineering, with 8+ years in Tool & Die and at least 5 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in automotive environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise tool room machining operations, tool & die build and repair.

  • Procure parts to keep tooling functioning for manufacturing needs.
  • Monitor ISO/IATF16949 compliance within the department.
  • Maintain documentation and records for the department.
  • Oversee safety and model corporate values in the tool room.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to hourly tool room staff.

Job description

Purpose

Oversee all Tool Room activities supporting production & engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • First line supervisor of tool room machining operation to include tool & die build & repair, precision grinding, preventative tool maintenance, etc.
  • Provide leadership and supervises the hourly tool room team.
  • Ability to identify, select, train and coach team members.
  • Responsible for overall coordination and communication within department and production.
  • Interacts with production, engineering, materials and quality teams regarding key/open issues.
  • Responsible for procurement of parts needed to keep tooling functioning properly to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Monitor all department ISO/IATF16969 requirements to satisfy corporate requirements.
  • Maintains documentation and records various data for the department as required.
  • Oversee the activities of the tool room to effectively support plant operations.
  • Responsible for related safety requirements.
  • Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Education & Experience: Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker or bachelor's degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent. 8 plus years of experience in Tool & Die. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role. Experience in automotive manufacturing.
