Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Sterling Heights seeks a seasoned tool and die specialist to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize transfer and line dies, both in-press and offline. You will support press setups, drive efficiency, and uphold safety and quality through Lean methods and root-cause problem solving.

The role requires 5+ years in metal stamping or die work, GD&T expertise, and experience reading CMM outputs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in metal stamping, prototype, tool and die build or die repair.
• Blueprint GD&T mastery and ability to read engineering prints.
• Proven track record solving operational issues quickly and effectively.
• Comfort with computers and machine control interfaces.
• Experience reading CMM/gaging outputs and tuning tooling to spec.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and Q1 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and optimize transfer and line dies (in-press and offline).
• Operate tool room equipment and support press setups.
• Drive line efficiency and uphold safety and quality standards.
• Apply root cause methods to boost throughput and conformance to prints.
• Be available for overtime to meet customer demand; perform wastewater duties as trained.
