Job summary

Amsted Automotive Transform division in Sterling Heights is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to participate in build and die changes. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining transfer and line dies, while supporting press setup and achieving efficiency goals.

The position requires interpreting blueprints/prints (GD&T), working with CMM/gaging data, and ensuring quality. Afternoons shift with a 15% shift premium; candidates must be able to lift up to 80 pounds in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in Metal Stamping, Prototype, Tool and Die Build or Die Repair Technician.
• Must demonstrate proficiency of Blueprint GD&T interpretation of Dies, Details, and Part Prints.
• Must be able to interpret CMM or gaging information and adjust Tooling to maintain Customer Quality requirements.
• Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment to meet production standards.
• Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and optimize transfer and line dies in press and out as required.
• Operate tool room equipment and machinery with precision.
• Support press setup and efficiency as a team to achieve posted expectations.
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
• Use root cause analysis and problem solving to promote efficiency and quality.
• Directly responsible to maintain product quality to print specifications where applicable.
