Job summary

Amsted Automotive, Transform division in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a Tooling Associate to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize dies and tooling in press operations. The role requires GD&T interpretation, CMM reading, and adherence to quality standards.

You will work on tool room equipment, support press setup, and contribute to Lean initiatives while maintaining safety and environmental guidelines. OT may be required to meet customer demand.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in Metal Stamping, Tool and Die Build or Die Repair Technician.
• Proficient in Blueprint GD&T interpretation of dies and part prints.
• Ability to interpret CMM data and adjust Tooling to meet Customer Quality requirements.
• Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and optimize transfer and line dies in press operations.
• Operate tool room equipment and machinery with precision.
• Supports press setup and efficiency to meet posted expectations.
• Adherence to safety procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
