Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Tool & Die Maker: Non-Journeyperson for the Z Shift at our Plant in Kansas City, MO. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing dies and tooling, and setting up lathes, mills, grinders, and shapers to manufacture quality parts.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 2+ years of tool and die experience (Journeyman preferred), and familiarity with Mastercam/SolidWorks is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman or completed apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs dies, die components, and tooling used in production.
• Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, and sets up and operates machine tools.
• Calculates dimensions, plans layouts, and sequences machining operations.
• Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances; heat treats tools or parts.
• Suggests design modifications to improve part construction and function.
• Follows safety procedures and uses precision measuring tools.
