Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Journeyman or completed apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years verifiable tool and die experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English to safely perform duties.
• Mastercam and Solidworks experience preferred.
• Intermediate level of machining and metalworking experience.
• Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work up to 12 hours per day and weekends; hi-lo license required.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, models to determine materials and machines.
• Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence.
• Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining.
• Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders; verifies conformance.
• Lifts and positions machined parts on surfaces and fixtures.
• Smooths surfaces and assembles parts into assemblies and mechanisms.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
• Heat treats tools or parts.
• Inspects dies, tools, jigs; recommends design modifications.
• Troubleshoots tooling to achieve required quality.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Uses calipers, micrometers, gauge pins and blocks, and other measurement tools.
