Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Machinist. You will troubleshoot, set up, and operate lathes, mills and grinders to manufacture dies and tooling components.

The role requires a journeyman or apprenticeship, 2+ years tool & die experience, and proficiency in measurement tools like calipers and micrometers. Mastercam/SolidWorks preferred; hi-lo license may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Journeyman or completed apprenticeship is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of verifiable tool and die experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions and procedures.
• Mastercam and SolidWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints and models to determine materials and machinery needed.
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders to make parts.
• Measure and mark stock; verify machined parts meet specs.
• Heat treat tools or parts as required and inspect finished pieces.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues to maintain quality levels.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times.
