MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tool & Die Maker Trainee on 2nd shift in Chesterfield, MI. This development role supports die and tooling fabrication, modification, and repair while you build hands-on skills in blueprint reading, precision measurement, machining, and die assembly under supervision.

You will read basic prints, support machining plans, and verify conformance with micrometers and calipers. The role emphasizes safety, 5S/Lean, and continuous learning in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist Tool and Die Makers with fabrication, modification, and repair of dies and tooling components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications with supervision.
• Support machining plans including material selection and tooling requirements, and sequencing of operations.
• Measure and lay out workpieces with precision instruments and set up manual equipment.
• Assist with die assembly and bench work, including fitting and polishing.
• Maintain 5S and Lean standards in the tool room and report hazards.
