Job summary

AriensCo is seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker for our 2nd shift manufacturing team. You will build, repair, and maintain tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient operations. Read blueprints, interpret CAD models, and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of toolmaking experience, CNC/CAD-CAM familiarity, and a strong problem-solving mindset. Able to lift 35 lb and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool and DIE Maker certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in toolmaking, machining, fixture building, or tooling maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Proficiency using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical activities associated with tool room work.
• Preferred CNC machining experience.
• CAD/CAM software experience.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, maintain, and improve tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production support equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Operate manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and other tool room equipment.
• Fit, align, and adjust tooling components to meet quality and performance requirements.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and fixtures.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support manufacturing operations and process improvements.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for tooling reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
