We are seeking a talented Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team in Edgewater Terrace, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep, installation, and optimization of molds, dies, fixtures, and various production tools.
Compensation: $32/hr – $37/hr
Schedule: 2nd Shift
Key Duties
- Construct, service, and update stamping dies, progressive dies, and various production fixtures to ensure operational success.
- Identify and resolve tooling malfunctions to help boost overall production quality and efficiency.
- Conduct necessary die testing, assessments, and maintenance tasks.
- Analyze and utilize engineering schematics, technical drawings, and tooling requirements.
- Utilize high-precision tools like height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.
- Manage standard toolroom machinery, including drill presses, surface grinders, lathes, and mills.
- Execute machining, grinding, and fitting tasks to ensure components align with precise design standards.
- Evaluate tooling parts to identify signs of wear, structural damage, or deviations from required dimensions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Completion of a high school diploma, GED, or a relevant technical education program.
- A minimum of three years working in tool and die manufacturing, ideally within a stamping facility.
- Comprehensive knowledge regarding the function and maintenance of stamping dies, progressive dies, and production fixtures.
- Proficiency in programming or operating CNC machinery.
- Expertise in interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T standards, and engineering documentation.
- Possession of a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker credential or a comparable level of professional expertise.
- Proven background working with high-volume production tooling and progressive stamping dies.
