Job summary

Accelera in Edgewater Terrace, IL seeks a Tool & Die Maker to maintain, install, and optimize molds, dies, fixtures, and production tools on the 2nd shift. The role requires reading schematics, GD&T, and working with high-precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet exact specs.

You will operate lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and other standard toolroom equipment, performing machining and testing tasks to keep tooling in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or technical education program.
• A minimum of three years working in tool and die manufacturing, ideally within stamping.
• Comprehensive knowledge of stamping dies, progressive dies, and production fixtures.
• Proficiency in programming or operating CNC machinery.
• Experience interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and engineering docs.
• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker credential or equivalent.
• Background in high-volume production tooling and progressive stamping dies.

Responsibilities

• Construct, service, and update stamping dies, progressive dies, and fixtures to ensure operation.
• Identify and resolve tooling malfunctions to boost quality and efficiency.
• Conduct die testing, assessments, and maintenance tasks.
• Read and apply engineering schematics and tooling requirements.
• Use height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and gauges for measurement.
• Operate toolroom machines: drill presses, grinders, lathes, and mills.
• Perform machining, grinding, and fitting to meet design standards.
• Evaluate tooling parts for wear and dimensional deviations.
