Job summary

Professional Placement Services is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for a 3rd shift position in Ohio. You will work hands-on with progressive stamping dies, precision machining, die repair, and troubleshooting to keep tooling performing at peak levels.

The candidate should have Journeyman Tool & Die status or equivalent and 3+ years of experience, with expertise in progressive dies, die repairs, and blueprints. Wire EDM and CNC experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Tool & Die card or equivalent required.
• 3+ years Tool & Die experience preferred.
• Experience with progressive stamping dies strongly preferred.
• Strong die repair, troubleshooting, and precision machining skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and work to close tolerances.
• Wire EDM experience is a plus.
• CNC machining experience is beneficial.
• Safety- and quality-focused with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, modify, and repair progressive, blanking, piercing, and forming dies.
• Troubleshoot tooling problems and perform emergency die repairs at the press.
• Perform die grinding, shimming, sharpening, fitting, and component replacement.
• Machine replacement parts and tooling components while maintaining close tolerances.
• Operate toolroom equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and other precision machining equipment.
• Read and work from blueprints, tooling drawings, sketches, and specifications.
• Perform die tryouts and diagnose production and tooling issues.
• Recommend tooling improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist with CNC machining and Wire EDM operations when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Tool & Die Maker – 3rd shift – $35-$44+ DOE

PPS is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker for a growing manufacturing operation. This is a hands‑on opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with experience working with progressive stamping dies, precision machining, die repair, and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in the toolroom and jumping in at the press when production tooling needs immediate attention.

What You’ll Do
