Job summary

RTX\'s Collins Aerospace York, NE site seeks a motivated individual to join our 2nd shift operation in a clean, climate-controlled facility where safety and quality are priorities.

Work includes operating manual lathes, grinders and mills, supporting maintenance, grinding carbide tooling, welding for repairs, and performing rework on production parts, with on-the-job training to obtain inspection certification.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a High School diploma or GED.
• In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Candidate must enroll and complete the Tool and Die Apprenticeship program with Southeast Community College.
• Experience with measurement equipment such as gauges and calipers.
• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job‑specific applications).
• Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, grinders and mills to support production needs for fixturing, tooling, and production parts.
• Support maintenance by building and/or modifying parts needed for repairs.
• Grind and modify carbide tooling used on production orders.
• Perform welding and acetylene torch work for repairs on fixturing and maintenance parts.
• Preform rework on production parts.
• Obtain inspection certification through on‑the‑job training and testing.
