Job summary

RTX is seeking an onsite machinist at the York, PA area facility to operate manual lathes, grinders and mill to support production needs. You will also assist maintenance by building or modifying parts and perform carbide tooling work for production orders.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, plus apprenticeship enrollment with Southeast Community College. On‑the‑job training includes inspection certification.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a High School diploma or GED. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience.
• Candidate must enroll and complete Tool and Die Apprenticeship program with Southeast Community College.

• Operate manual lathes, grinders and mill, to support production needs for fixturing, tooling, and production parts.
• Support maintenance by building and/or modifying parts needed for repairs.
• Grind/modify carbide tooling that will be used on production orders.
• Welding and acetylene torch work for repairs on fixturing and maintenance parts.
• Preform rework on production parts.
• Required to obtain inspection certification through on‑the‑job training & testing.

• Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
