Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist for the 2nd shift. In this role, you will operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce high-quality, precision parts. The position requires a commitment to quality and attention to detail, along with the ability to interpret complex blueprints.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity, alongside relevant experience in operating machinery.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual machinery is required.
• Relevant machining certifications as specified by equipment manufacturers are required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual machine tools.
• Analyze blueprints and technical drawings.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments for inspection.
• Maintain accurate inspection documentation.
• Operate overhead cranes safely when handling materials.

Skills

Experience with equipment such as lathes, VTL, grinding and milling.

Strong mechanical aptitude

Excellent manual dexterity

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints

Intermediate mathematical skills

Solid critical thinking skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

Excellent attention to detail

Basic computer skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Trade school certificate or specialized education in machining
