Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in Stockton, CA is seeking a Tool & Die Maker Apprentice to support the New Tooling department. You will work closely with journeymen to build progressive stamping dies, assist with die components, and help in prototyping new dies.

The role requires enrollment in a machine technology program, strong machining and assembly experience, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Participation in Simpson Strong-Tie Apprenticeship program and current enrollment in a college-level machine technology program required.
• Minimum 4 years of Tool & Die/Tool room machining experience.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with precision assembly methods and techniques.
• Minimum 5 years stamping manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to use 2D AutoCAD drawings.

Responsabilités

• Build progressive stamping dies with journeymen Tool & Die Makers (80%).
• Coordinate material and component orders and deliveries with project leads.
• Report daily progress on machining projects, die tryouts, and new die builds.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks on time.
• Receive mentorship from journeymen, leads, and machinists.
• Model safe work practices and ensure a safe work environment.
