Job summary

Colonial Group in California is seeking a Tool Designer to drive tooling design and provide production support across the forging facility. You will contribute to the entire product development process at our manufacturing sites.

You will design tools, develop 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotations, validate designs with FEA simulations, and collaborate with Quality, Process, and Manufacturing teams to meet customer due dates.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years relevant experience required.
• Fundamentals of GD&T required.
• 3D solid modeling experience required.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and support product development.
• Create 3D forging models and 2D drawings for quotations.
• Validate tool designs using FEA simulations.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Support customer due dates and on-time delivery.
• Interact on the shop floor to solve problems and optimize processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.
