SIFCO INDUSTRIES INC. seeks a Design / Project Engineer to provide engineering expertise for new and existing product and process development.

You will bridge engineering, sales, quality and operations, using customer input and sales data to redesign tooling and methods while testing and simulating metal flow to optimize performance. You will lead design activities, run FEM simulations, and coordinate cross-functional teams from concept through certification, ensuring tooling validity and

Qualifikationen

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar with 3+ years’ manufacturing experience.
• Experience with project management and multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical thinking to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
• Introductory experience with 3D CAD packages, CATIA V5 or Creo (Pro-Engineer).
• Knowledge of finite element modeling principles and material science concepts.

Aufgaben

• Manage projects, NPI and product launches using the DIAMOND stage gate process.
• Develop and implement new product designs and improvements, including prototypes and cost analyses.
• Support continuous improvement via Lean, Six Sigma and RCA tools.
• Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations and external partners throughout design and improvements.
• Design and simulate tooling and processes to meet customer specifications.
• Use design software to provide information supporting sales and engineering decisions.
• Create/modify drawings from customer specs or 3D models and update as needed.
• Perform FEM simulations to validate tooling for finish forging.
• Assist shop floor in resolving design/manufacturing issues.
