Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking a Tool Design Engineer for the Savannah Machinery Works location.

The role focuses on the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing tooling and fixtures used in gas turbine component production and repair. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Automation to deliver safe, cost-effective tooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience designing tooling for CNC machining, EDM, grinding, inspection, welding, coating, or automation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production tooling, fixtures, workholding systems, inspection fixtures, and automation-ready tooling for manufacturing operations.
• Create modular and standardized tooling systems to improve setup, maintenance and production efficiency.
• Develop scalable fixture solutions with commonality and flexibility across product families.
• Determine tooling and fixture requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
• Design tooling to support machining, EDM, grinding, welding, coating, laser processing, assembly and automation processes.
