Job summary

Mitsubishi Power is seeking a Tool Design Engineer for Manufacturing Tooling & Automation at the Savannah Machinery Works site. The role focuses on the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of tooling, fixtures, gauges, and workholding for gas turbine component manufacture and repair.

Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Automation, and Production teams to deliver robust, safe, and cost‑effective tooling solutions that improve quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing tooling for CNC machining, EDM, grinding, inspection, welding, coating, or automated manufacturing operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production tooling, fixtures, workholding systems, inspection fixtures, and automation‑ready tooling for manufacturing operations.
• Create modular and standardized tooling systems to improve setup, maintenance, inspection, replacement, and production efficiency.
• Develop scalable fixture solutions that maximize commonality, flexibility, and process capability across product families.
• Apply GD&T and tolerance analysis to ensure accuracy, repeatability, manufacturability, and inspection correlation.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on tooling, fixture design, GD&T, and automation best practices.
