Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for advanced machining processes at the Savannah Machinery Works location.

The role focuses on transforming machining operations into highly automated, data-driven systems by leading process improvements, automation, and digital manufacturing initiatives. The engineer will mentor staff, define best practices, and collaborate across engineering, operations, and suppliers to reduce first-pass defects and drive efficiency while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial, or materials engineering.
• 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in advanced machining operations.
• Experience leading process development, automation, equipment commissioning, RCA, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, communicate with staff and leadership, and prepare technical reports.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and technical calculation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates core competencies: action orientation, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, ownership.
• Lead development, implementation, optimization, and sustainment of advanced machining processes (grinding, EDM, milling).
• Serve as technical SME for process capability, readiness, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and deploy manufacturing best practices, standards, procedures, and lessons learned.
• Own machining programs, data, DNC/MDC systems, and change management for validation and traceability.
• Analyze manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, and throughput.
• Develop automation strategies to reduce manual intervention and improve repeatability.
• Collaborate with Automation, Tooling, Operations, Quality, OEMs and suppliers on integrated solutions.
• Define requirements for machine integration, data collection, monitoring, and MES connectivity.
• Lead equipment acceptance, commissioning, and production ramp-up activities.
• Mentor engineers and production personnel to support business objectives.
