Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Tooling and Inventory Clerk to manage the tool crib, issue tooling, track inventory, and maintain accurate records. You will receive, unpack, store, and deliver tools to production teams, inspect for wear, and report damages.

The ideal candidate has machining experience with tooling for Lathes, Mills, and Grinders, and familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban) plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory software.

Qualifications

• Machining background and tooling knowledge required.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban, or related manufacturing planning concepts.
• APICS or related certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain tool crib inventory and stock levels for tools and fixtures.
• Inspect used tooling for wear and determine if resharpening is necessary.
• Order tooling and shop supplies.
• Build tools and tool kits for production work centers.
• Maintain running records of purchases, order status, and delivery updates.
• Work with programmers and machinists to order tooling for new parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized tool crib.
• Collaborate with vendors for quality products at best pricing.
• Suggest continuous improvement initiatives to supervisor.
• Consult with engineers and production staff to resolve machining issues.
• Other duties may be assigned.
