Kids for the Future is seeking a Tooling and Inventory Clerk to manage the tool crib, issue tooling, track inventory, and maintain accurate records. You will receive, unpack, store, and deliver tools to production teams, inspect for wear, and report damages.
The ideal candidate has machining experience with tooling for Lathes, Mills, and Grinders, and familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban) plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory software.
Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned. Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment. Prepares periodic inventory and maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment using computer software and bar code readers. Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory. Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors. Delivers tools or equipment to workers. Marks and identifies tools and equipment.

– Must have a background in machining and understand the different types of tooling for Lathes, Mills, & Grinders. Training and experience in modern planning and manufacturing processes, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kan Ban, etc. APICS or related certification a plus. Should have experience in a production planning and control function, as well as management experience. Additional experience as a manufacturing manager would be a plus. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products.

BS/BA or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training, combined with technical training and/or appropriate certification.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read blueprints. Applicants must also have a working knowledge of computers to access and update inventory software and budget spread sheets.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
