Job summary

National Novelty Brush Company in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a Tool Room Technician to support production through receiving, inspecting, sharpening stamping dies, and setting up fixtures. The role requires some experience; perform tool-related tasks and maintain quality while ensuring safety and housekeeping in a manufacturing setting.

The position involves measurements, part fabrication for MRO inventory, and coordination with engineering for drawings and tool processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months+ related experience in Manufacturing.
  • Some experience required.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • MS Office skills required; CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and determine the process for tooling, i.e. keep in-house to clean or send to an outside contractor.
  • Use grinders and lathes to sharpen stamping dies and fixture setup.
  • Polish and sharpen tooling to prepare for set-ups.
  • Manufacture small parts for in-house machines for MRO warehouse inventory.
  • Take measurements of tooling, using the optical comparator, Starrett measuring machine, and hand measuring tools.
  • Reverse engineer small parts.
  • Update drawings in coordination with engineering staff.
  • Responsible for sweeping and overall department cleanliness.
  • Provide support to Tool Crib attendants as needed, including assisting with inventory, preparing RMAs, and pulling product requested by production.
  • Other misc. duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $23.00 Hourly

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and sharpening stamping dies and fixture setups to support production operations. Some experience required.

Some experience required

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Associate's degree a plus. Field of Study: Machine Tool.

Experience:

6 months+ related experience in Manufacturing.

Computer Skills:

MS Office skills required. MRP knowledge a plus. CAD experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

Knowledge of machine shop equipment including set-ups, operations, and performing adjustments.

Knowledge of Blueprint reading and interpretation.
