Job summary

ARCH is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to ensure the tool room is stocked with the tooling required for CNC milling setups to meet the production schedule and prevent interruptions due to missing tooling.

The role involves prepping setup kits, inventorying returned items, coordinating with Engineering on process updates, and managing tooling procurement to sustain production needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Tool Crib Attendant or related role.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in CNC machining.
  • Experience with machine tool setup including work-holding and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret machined drawings at a basic level.

Responsibilities

  • Prep set up kit to include set up sheets, tool holders, fixtures, gauges, vises, raw material and other items called out by setup sheets.
  • Assure set-up kits are prepped according to production schedule.
  • Receive returned kits, inventory contents and replenish/repair tools.
  • Review process improvement suggestions and coordinate with Engineering any updates to setup, program, or process.
  • Maintain recycling program for perishable tools to identify, resharpen, recycle, or dispose.
  • Coordinate procurement of tooling to ensure adequate tooling is available to support production needs.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for ordering tooling, specialty tooling, perishables, and supplies.
  • Store and accurately inventory all tooling and supplies needed for production.
  • Identify inventory needs and maintain accurate inventory levels to insure uninterrupted production.

Summary: The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for ensuring that the tool room is stocked with the necessary tooling to ensure all CNC Milling machine tools can be set-up as required per the production schedule and that jobs are not interrupted because of unavailable tooling.

Duties
  • Responsible for prepping set up kit to include set up sheets, tool holders, fixtures, gauges, vises, raw material, stock from other departments and any other items as called out by set up sheets.
  • Assures the set-up kits are prepped according to production schedule.
  • Receives all returned kits to crib and inventories contents and replenish/repairs/services tools.
  • Responsible for reviewing process improvement suggestions and coordinating with Engineering any updates to setup, program, or process.

  • Ability to read and interpret machined component drawings at a basic level.
  • Punctual, accurate, and highly organized work habits.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to read and understand written procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
