Job summary

MSR-FSR, LLC is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant Level 1 to manage tool issuance, returns, and calibration coordination on site in a manufacturing environment. You will maintain organized inventory, verify training, record transactions, and ensure tool availability for technicians.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to ISO procedures, and cross-training with the Lab Spares team to support downtime events and major changeovers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tool crib or inventory environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue, return, and recover loaned tools and equipment.
• Keep tool crib organized, labeled, and inventory accurate.
• Process tool loan requests after verifying authorization and training.
• Record all tool checkouts in the inventory system with borrower and due date.
• Inspect returned tools for damage and route for repair or calibration when needed.
• Monitor overdue tools and contact borrowers for recovery.
• Maintain calibration records and coordinate calibration schedules.
• Verify calibration status before issuing controlled equipment.
• Receive and document returned calibration equipment and update records.
• Maintain ISO-compliant calibration labels, certificates, and records.
• Perform replenishment of consumables and identify stockouts.
• Place consumable orders and track open orders and shortages.
• Support technicians with tool, consumable, and material availability.
• Cross-train with Lab Spares for downtime support and major changes.

Job description

JOB TITLE: Tool Crib Attendant Level 1

Responsibilities include

Tool crib operations: issue, return, and recovery of loaned tools and equipment.

Maintain the tool crib in an organized, labeled, and inventory-accurate condition.

Process tool loan requests and verify requester authorization and required training before issuing equipment.

Record all tool checkouts and returns in the designated inventory system, including borrower, due date, tool condition, and other required information.

Inspect returned tools for damage or missing components and route equipment for repair or calibration when necessary.

Monitor overdue tools, contact borrowers for recovery, and** escalates** unresolved or missing equipment.

Maintain calibration-controlled equipment records and coordinate calibration schedules with approved providers.

Verify calibration status before issuing controlled equipment and ensure overdue or out-of-tolerance equipment is removed from service.

Receive returned calibration equipment, verify documentation, update system records, and return equipment to available inventory when requirements are met.

Maintain calibration labels, certificates, and records to support ISO compliance and audit requirements.

Perform scheduled replenishment of consumables at point-of-use locations, including kanban bins, cabinets, and vending machines.

Maintain established inventory levels and identify recurring stockouts, damaged materials, or inaccurate inventory levels.

Place consumable orders through designated systems and track open orders, late shipments, and shortages.

Receive, inspect, organize, and accurately record incoming materials.

Perform routine cycle counts and research inventory discrepancies.

Process internal material and consumable requests, including picking, staging, issuing, and delivering requested materials.

Communicate partial fills, backorders, availability, and expected lead times to internal customers.

Maintain and stock LOTO stations according to established requirements and report missing, damaged, or non-conforming items.

Support technicians and internal customers with tool, consumable, and material availability.

Respond to urgent requests and downtime events involving tooling, consumables, or material shortages.

Cross-train with the Lab Spares team and assist with material and tooling staging during downtime events, shutdowns, PMs, and major changeovers.

Maintain accurate records and documentation in applicable inventory, calibration, and material management systems.

Other tasks assigned by management.

NOTE- "Swing" Shift pays an additional 10% on top of your base salary

• You must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, a hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
• Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.

High School Diploma or GED

1-2 years of Mechanical or Electrical experience is preferred or previous experience in a production environment

Ability to read and understand technical procedures and instructions.

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from supervisors and managers.

Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
