Votaw Precision Technologies, LLC is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to manage tool inventories and issue CNC and manual tools in a precision manufacturing environment. You will maintain perpetual records, verify incoming tools against orders, prep tools for setup, and support production by ensuring accurate, on‑time tool availability.

This role requires attention to detail and teamwork in a fast-paced aerospace/defense manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inspect tools for wear and report damage; assist with tool maintenance.
  • Support production by ensuring on‑time tool readiness for setups.

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for pre‑setting and issuing CNC and Manual tools and area equipment; maintains records of issued tools and monitors the tool crib inventory; receives new tools and schedules preventative maintenance of Tool Crib related equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computer.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, visually or using micrometers and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment, using hand tools, spray gun, or pressurized spray can.
  • May deliver tools or equipment to workers, manually or using hand truck.
  • May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.
  • Receives, stores and issues CNC cutting tools and equipment in an industrial establishment.
  • Sets Cutting Tool Length and Diameters using Optical Tool Pre‑Setters (Will Train on specific models).
  • Verifies ‘Returned from Use’ tooling for wear and/or damage.
  • Maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment, manually or using computers.
  • Receives incoming new tools and equipment and verifies them against Purchase Orders.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming tools and materials, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify and issues.
  • Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Marks and identifies tools and equipment for traceability.
  • Serves as an expert/consultant in manufacturing line skills with other employees.
  • Responsible for accurate inventory of tools and fixtures in a secure access tool crib room.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Ability to use complex equipment, read difficult instructions and schematics, and maintain written records.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to create Excel spreadsheets to maintain Inventories.
  • Ability to effectively present information in small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to use common machine shop hand and measurement tools.
  • Self‑motivation, able to accomplish high level of work.
  • Team player, actively participating in continuous improvement projects with coworkers.

Preferred:

  • High school degree. Successful completion of company provided training will be required.
  • 3+ Years Practical Experience working directly with CNC Tools and Tools Holding processes.
