Job summary

Amazon’s NORTH AMERICA TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT (TOM) Automation Implementation and Execution team seeks a Technician to support yard systems, hardware, operating systems, and software within TOM managed yards. This hourly role involves troubleshooting, equipment deployment, and process validation to drive operations excellence in transportation.

You will collaborate with TOM leaders, implement automated solutions, and adapt to changing workloads while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• 2+ years of computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and repairing experience.
• 1+ years of corporate setting Windows, Mac or Linux Operating systems support experience.

Responsibilities

• Align with the operations team to understand tools and systems that are not working correctly and remedy as appropriate.
• Take ownership of all existing systems and technology that are part of TOM gate and yard operations as well as approved systems that have not yet been implemented at your respective site.
• Provide tech support on tools such as ALPR and other Gate and Yard Technologies.
• Monitor processes through systems and technology to identify deviation from standard work.
• Pilot test updates to exiting tools and implementation of new hardware, software, cameras, and computer instrumentation.
• Deep dive and identify process improvement opportunities in using the yard and gate technology effectively to help the TOM team be more efficient and reduce process time.
• Manage and communicate any system performance issues.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50% within a 50-mile radius from your home location.
• Ability to move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during 10-12 hours at a time with or without reasonable accommodation shifts lasting up to 12 hours
