Job summary

Ferrovial Construction in Nashville, TN, seeks a Tolling, ITS, and Electrical Design Manager to lead design and coordination of tolling, ITS, and electrical infrastructure for a major transportation project. You will guide the discipline team, manage interfaces, ensure quality and safety, and work with developers, TDOT, and construction teams.

The role requires 10+ years' experience in relevant design, PE licensure preferred, and proficiency with Excel, Procore, MicroStation, and CAD tools;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related engineering field.
• Master of Science degree preferred.
• Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in relevant design and coordination activities, including leadership on complex transportation projects.
• Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain licensure preferred.
• Experience with tolling, ITS, roadway lighting, power, communications and related electrical infrastructure on PPP or Design-Build projects; TDOT experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, design quality processes, and transportation agency requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination and manage consultants/subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead tolling, ITS, and electrical design workstream and set priorities, deliverables, and coordination requirements.
• Manage design schedule, budget, resources, risks, interfaces, and subcontractor scopes.
• Oversee preparation and review of calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, models, and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Lead coordination with Developer, TDOT, tolling integrator, designers, contractors, and utility stakeholders.
• Chair or participate in technical meetings; document decisions and actions; drive issue resolution.
• Manage technical communications, submittals, RFIs, design changes, and construction-phase support.
• Identify risks, evaluate options, and direct solutions to improve safety, quality, constructability, schedule or cost.
• Develop design optimizations while maintaining requirements and stakeholder acceptance.
• Coordinate field observations and incorporate construction feedback into design.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Industrial or related engineering field
