Job summary

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. in Brentwood, TN seeks a Lead Engineer to oversee transportation infrastructure projects for TDOT and local agencies. You will lead highway design teams, perform analyses, manage scopes, budgets and schedules, and serve as the technical liaison with clients.

The ideal candidate holds a BSCE from ABET, a Tennessee PE license, at least five years of highway design experience, and proficiency in OpenRoads 3D, MicroStation, Bentley, Geopak, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET-accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee (TN).
• TDOT experience.
• Minimum five (5) years highway/roadway design experience.
• Excellent attention to detail; provide accurate and high-quality design.
• Able to lead and work collaboratively within a design team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in design platforms such as OpenRoads 3D, MicroStation, Bentley, Geopak, and software like Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead the highway/roadway design team for moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects.
• Perform analysis and design calculations for highway/roadway projects.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, schedules.
• Technical liaison with clients and coordinate within discipline areas.
• Manage day-to-day communication with the client, supporting engineers and staff, writing reports and memos, coordinating with sub-consultants.
• Organize task scheduling to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with proposal preparation and business development/project pursuits.
• Other duties as needed.
