Job summary

TRC Worldwide Engineering, Inc. in Brentwood, TN seeks a Lead Engineer for transportation infrastructure projects with TDOT and local municipalities. You will lead the highway design team, perform analyses, manage scopes and budgets, and coordinate with clients and sub-consultants.

The role requires a TN-licensed PE, ABET BSCE, and at least 5 years of highway design experience. Strong communication and leadership are essential, with proficiency in OpenRoads 3D, MicroStation, and GEOPAK.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE required.
• Professional Engineer license in Tennessee (TN).
• TDOT project experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years highway/roadway design experience.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality design.
• Ability to lead and collaborate within a design team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in OpenRoads 3D, MicroStation, Bentley GEOPAK; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead the highway/roadway design team for moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects.
• Perform analysis and design calculations for highway/roadway projects.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Serve as technical liaison with clients and coordinate with discipline teams.
• Manage day-to-day client communication, support engineers, write reports, and coordinate with sub-consultants.
• Organize task scheduling to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Assist with proposal preparation and business development.
• Handle other duties as needed.
