Job summary

The Growing Years in Charlotte is seeking Assistant Teachers to support toddlers in a licensed childcare center. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and ECC credentials or credits, plus the ability to pass all background checks.

Primary duties include assisting the lead teacher, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining a safe environment, and fostering positive family relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Early childhood education credentials or 6 credits in ECC courses or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all classroom aspects in line with the center's philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that promote growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept feedback, and make improvements for program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with each family to provide quality care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around small children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs) and lift up to 40 lbs.
