Job summary

Lilac City Early Learning Center is opening a brand-new Balboa Elementary campus in partnership with Spokane Public Schools and the City of Spokane. The Assistant Teacher role supports toddlers with two teachers per classroom in a developmentally informed program guided by Conscious Discipline and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Applicants must meet Washington State licensing requirements for Assistant Teachers or be eligible upon hire.
• Required certifications include CPR/First Aid, Food Worker Card, DCYF Background Check, Mandatory Trainings, and STARS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create a nurturing classroom environment
• Assist the planning and implementation of engaging curriculum
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development
• Complete developmental assessments
• Conduct family conferences
• Maintain daily communication with families
• Supervise Classroom Aides
• Maintain classroom documentation
• Meet licensing requirements
• Participate in team meetings and professional development
