Job summary

Children's Land in Park Ridge, IL invites applications for a compassionate Assistant Teacher to join our family- and team-oriented learning community. You will assist in planning and implementing thematic activities, support children's development, and maintain a warm, safe classroom.

Requirements include an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, 2 years of preschool experience, and CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities that are thematic, engaging, and meet high-quality standards.
  • Support the assessment of each child's development, tailoring the curriculum to meet diverse needs.
  • Contribute to a warm and safe classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Maintain open and empathetic communication with parents and guardians, offering regular updates on their children's progress and daily activities.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops.
  • Help manage classroom resources, ensuring all materials are readily available and well-maintained.
  • Consistently monitor children to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and effective learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in assisting with teaching children in a preschool or similar setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
