Job summary

Children's Land in Grayslake, IL is hiring an Assistant Teacher to join a warm, family-oriented early childhood team. You will assist in planning and implementing thematic activities, assess child development, and contribute to a nurturing classroom that supports safety and curiosity.

This role requires an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Bachelor’s preferred), at least 2 years of preschool experience, and strong communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience assisting with preschool children.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of childcare safety regulations and diverse teaching methods.
• Excellent communication and nurturing interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage actively with children in a developmentally appropriate manner.

• Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities that are thematic, engaging, and meet high-quality standards.
• Support the assessment of each child's development, tailoring the curriculum to meet diverse needs.

• Consistently monitor children to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and effective learning environment.
