Job summary

The Learning Experience - Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Toddler Assistant Teacher who loves the energy, curiosity, and rapid development that make the toddler years so exciting.

You’ll work alongside the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing classroom filled with opportunities for children to explore, communicate, build independence, and learn through hands-on experiences. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous professional childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood experience required.
• Toddler classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and collaborative.
• Must meet applicable New York licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and learning experiences.
• Implement activities from The Learning Experience's L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Engage toddlers through art, sensory play, music, movement, stories, and language.
• Support emerging independence and social-emotional development.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, meals, rest time, and daily care routines.
• Use positive guidance and consistent classroom expectations.
• Observe and support children's developmental progress.
• Communicate professionally with families and team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Follow New York licensing and center requirements.

Pay: $19-$21 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
