Job summary

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle in New York, NY is expanding with a brand-new Toddler classroom and is seeking a caring, energetic Toddler Assistant Teacher to join the teaching team.

This full-time role supports a Lead Teacher in creating a warm, engaging space where toddlers explore, build independence, and form early friendships while meeting NYC childcare requirements and collaborating with families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience working with children preferred.
• Toddler, daycare, preschool, or childcare experience is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, nurturing, and energetic.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must meet applicable New York City childcare requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging Toddler classroom
• Support daily learning activities, play, art, music, sensory experiences, and outdoor time
• Encourage language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and classroom transitions
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Help establish consistent routines as our new classroom grows
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming learning environment
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Follow applicable New York City childcare requirements

Toddler Assistant Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Location: The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle, New York, NY

Pay: $18–$20 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Opening: New Toddler Classroom

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle is growing! We're opening a new Toddler classroom and are looking for a caring and energetic Toddler Assistant Teacher to join the teaching team.
