Job summary

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle in New York, NY is hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher to open and lead a brand-new Toddler classroom. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly pay and opportunities for growth within a supportive teaching team.

You will establish routines, create a welcoming learning environment, and build strong relationships with new families while guiding an Assistant Teacher and ensuring program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in ECE; or CDA; or HS diploma with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Strong classroom leadership and relationship-building with families.
• Ability to implement LEAP curriculum and plan activities.
• Commitment to safety, developmentally appropriate practice, and NYC childcare rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead opening and daily operation of a new Toddler classroom.
• Create a safe, nurturing, structured, engaging learning environment.

Lead Toddler Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Location: The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle, New York, NY

Pay: $20–$24 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Opening: New Toddler Classroom

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to help launch and lead our new Toddler classroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early childhood educator who wants to take ownership of a classroom from the beginning. You'll help establish routines, create a welcoming learning environment, build relationships with new families, and develop a strong classroom culture alongside a supportive teaching team.

What You'll Do

• Lead the opening and day-to-day operation of a new Toddler classroom
• Create a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment
• Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
• Plan developmentally appropriate hands-on learning experiences
• Encourage language, independence, movement, and social-emotional development
• Establish consistent classroom routines and positive behavior guidance
• Observe children's development and support individual milestones
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families
• Guide and collaborate with your Assistant Teacher
• Maintain classroom documentation, organization, and safety standards
• Follow applicable New York City childcare requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or
• High School Diploma/GED plus at least 5 years of relevant early childhood experience

Previous toddler classroom experience is strongly preferred. We're looking for someone who is confident leading a classroom, understands toddler development, and brings patience, consistency, and enthusiasm to their work.
