Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years related experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of internal and industry title procedures, compliance, and applicable requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate others in title processes.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and AmurEF platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Create Title packets, verifying that all information is correct, including sales tax, title assignments, and all corresponding documentation matches.
  • Work with internal departments on title follow-up for outstanding originals and correcting errors.
  • Complete follow-up to ensure title perfection is completed in a timely manner.
  • Check-in of paper titles and ELT's daily.
  • Filing of original documents and documenting communications in appropriate platforms.
  • Ensure title packets are completed within SLA and perform audits for accuracy.
  • Coach, train, and mentor Title Specialists and other department teams on title processes.
  • Assist in escalated customer calls and provide accurate, timely information as needed.
  • Travel occasionally to other AmurEF offices for visits and training.

Job description

Description

The Title Specialist is responsible for gathering documentation to send titles to the title agencies for processing and verifying that all information is correct, which includes sales tax, matching documentation, assignments, signatures, etc. They will ensure that original titles (perfected and non-perfected) are checked in a timely manner. Customer requests for title issues are resolved. Work with the title agency and Docs/Funding to ensure follow-up is completed on all outstanding titles. All titles are received within the timeline set forth. In addition, a title specialist will assist in communications with internal requests for title status updates.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Process
  • Create Title packets, verifying that all information is correct, including sales tax, title assignments, and all corresponding documentation matches.
  • Works with internal departments with title follow-up on outstanding originals, perfected and correcting errors.
  • Completes follow-up to ensure title perfection is completed in a timely manner.
  • Check-in of paper titles and ELT's daily.
  • Filing of original documents.
  • Documenting all communications internally and externally in appropriate platforms.
Performance
  • Ensure the title packets are completed within SLA.
  • Prepare Audit checks from internal and external sources to ensure title perfection has been completed.
  • Perform title lien checks to confirm lien placement on titles to reduce outstanding title issues.
  • Coach, train, and mentor Title Specialists and other department teams with accurate, consistent, and timely information when required on the title process.
Customer Service
  • Display patience and a positive attitude with all customers, internal and external.
  • Resolve incoming title issues by providing accurate, valid, and complete information in a timely manner.
  • Assists in escalated customer calls and disputes with exemplary service and maintains professional phone etiquette.
  • Works with the Title Supervisor to ensure customer-centric service is delivered in a superior manner within the department.

Education and Training Guidelines
  • Associate degree in Business/Finance/Accounting or equivalent
  • Two (2) to five (5) years related experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to talk or hear; may be necessary to stand, walk, handle, or reach with hands or arms. This is predominantly a sedentary role; however, walking is often required. Some filing is required, calling for the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The team member is occasionally required to pack and move files or boxes as well as lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Occasional travel is required, mainly for visits to other AmurEF offices and for training sessions held outside the Grand Island area.
