The Company

EPR Energy, LLC is an entrepreneurial company located in Dallas, TX. Founded at the start of 2020, EPR Energy has quickly become one of the leading buyers in the oil and gas mineral and royalty space, focused primarily on acquisitions in the Permian Basin.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-3 years of oil and gas industry experience, with significant background in title, lease, and contract analysis
• Strong self-starter capable of managing multiple workstreams independent of direct supervision

Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead title due diligence on prospective mineral and royalty acquisitions — review runsheets, title opinions, and county records to confirm ownership and chain of title
• Analyze and interpret complex leases, contracts, and instruments to determine mineral ownership, rights, obligations, responsibilities, and costs of interest
• Review deeds, conveyances, leases, assignments, pooling provisions, and unit designations for accuracy and risk
• Determine working interests and burdens based on title analysis of deeds, title opinions, assignments, purchase & sale agreements, estate and probate documents, leases, royalty agreements, and pooling declarations
• Calculate and verify net mineral acres (NMA), net royalty acres (NRA), and net revenue interest (NRI) to validate acquisition models prior to close
• Evaluate and determine the status of leases affected by producing, shut-in, temporarily abandoned, or plugged wells

Curative & Records Management

• Identify, evaluate, and cure title defects; coordinate curative work with outside landmen and title attorneys
• Set up and maintain leases, minerals, contracts, and surface records in the company land database
• Build and maintain clean ownership records and title databases across the portfolio

Division Orders & Revenue

• Work alongside EPR's admin team to manage division-order setup and verification; confirm decimal interests and resolve discrepancies directly with operators
• Track and clear suspended funds, pay-deck errors, and revenue discrepancies

Deal Support & Growth

• Partner with the acquisitions and underwriting team to flag title risk early and support deal valuation
• Scout new areas of interest for company mineral acquisition efforts
• Manage relationships with brokers, landmen, title attorneys, and operators
• Build and lead a title/land team as the portfolio scales (scope depends on candidate experience and company stage)

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills; detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Motivated self-starter able to multitask and work independent of direct supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for the clear presentation of information and ideas
