Job summary

X4 Engineering in Dallas seeks an experienced Landman to manage and expand a minerals portfolio within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. You will own complex title analyses, due diligence, and lease interpretations across multiple basins, coordinating with legal and operations teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Petroleum Land Management degree, 5+ years in oil and gas land work, and proficiency with Enverus, DI, RRC systems, and Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Energy Ecommerce or similar discipline.
  • 5+ years of oil & gas land experience, preferably within minerals, royalties, upstream, or acquisition-focused environments.
  • Strong understanding of mineral, royalty, leasehold title, due diligence, and title curative processes.
  • Experience handling acquisitions, ownership analysis, and complex land matters independently.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex mineral, royalty, and leasehold title analysis across multiple basins and asset packages.
  • Perform due diligence and title curative support for acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Review and interpret oil & gas leases, deeds, contracts, assignments, and other land-related agreements.
  • Negotiate lease amendments, ratifications, surface use agreements, and other land documents as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze division orders, transfer documents, ownership reports, and related title documentation.
  • Maintain accurate ownership records and land databases.

A prestigious minerals and royalties firm based in Dallas is seeking an experienced Landman to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven land professional to play a key role in managing and expanding a high-quality minerals portfolio while working within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in mineral and royalty title, acquisitions, due diligence, lease analysis, and ownership research, along with the ability to work independently across a wide range of land functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex mineral, royalty, and leasehold title analysis across multiple basins and asset packages
  • Perform due diligence and title curative support for acquisitions and divestitures
  • Review and interpret oil & gas leases, deeds, contracts, assignments, and other land-related agreements
  • Negotiate lease amendments, ratifications, surface use agreements, and other land documents as needed
  • Prepare, review, and analyze division orders, transfer documents, ownership reports, and related title documentation
  • Maintain accurate ownership records and land databases
  • Coordinate with legal, accounting, owner relations, and external operators to resolve title and revenue issues
  • Monitor lease obligations, expirations, and ongoing compliance requirements
  • Support strategic mineral acquisition efforts through research, reporting, and land analysis
  • Assist in streamlining internal land processes and improving data quality initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Energy Ecommerce or similar discipline is a must.
  • 5+ years of oil & gas land experience, preferably within minerals, royalties, upstream, or acquisition-focused environments
  • Strong understanding of mineral, royalty, leasehold title, due diligence, and title curative processes
  • Experience handling acquisitions, ownership analysis, and complex land matters independently
  • Familiarity with industry software including Enverus, DI, RRC systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
