Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a Title IX Support Specialist to develop and deliver education on Title IX and VAWA. You will coordinate prevention efforts, support students with pregnancy-related concerns, and assist with sensitive university processes.

The role requires strong organization, confidentiality, and a commitment to serving students, faculty, and staff across campus. Experience in higher education and knowledge of compliance standards are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years in higher education or training setting.
  • Understanding of best practices in sexual violence prevention and victim support.
  • Ability to organize workload and exercise discretion.
  • Technical skills: data tracking, spreadsheets, and hosting virtual trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate hearings and pre-hearing conferences, scheduling and materials.
  • Serve as initial contact for students with pregnancy-related concerns.
  • Receive and manage reports; conduct initial assessments and connect to resources.
  • Develop and deliver training on Title IX, VAWA, and related topics.
  • Create educational materials, campaigns, and events on prevention and risk reduction.
  • Maintain knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act and campus best practices.
  • Maintain the Title IX Log and prepare annual/Clery reports.
  • Organize case files and support Title IX team with documentation.

Title IX Support Specialist

Join BYU’s Title IX Office and help create a safer, more informed, and supportive campus community. As the Title IX Support Specialist, you will help develop and deliver Title IX and VAWA‑related education, coordinate prevention and awareness efforts, support students with pregnancy‑related concerns, and assist with sensitive university Title IX processes. This meaningful work requires exceptional organization, confidentiality, professionalism, and a commitment to serving students, faculty, and staff.

What you’ll do in this position:
  • Coordinate hearings and pre‑hearing conferences, including scheduling, communication, materials, accommodations, records, and participant resources.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students with pregnancy‑related concerns, conduct intake meetings, and coordinate appropriate supportive measures and adjustments.
  • Receive and manage reports submitted online, by email, phone, or in person; conduct initial assessments; and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
  • Research, develop, implement, and assist in delivering training for students, faculty, staff, and other members of the BYU community.
  • Develop educational materials, prevention campaigns, outreach efforts, and events related to sexual violence prevention, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, bystander intervention, and risk reduction.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, state and federal requirements, and higher education best practices.
  • Maintain the Title IX Log, track reports and trainings, and prepare annual and Clery reports.
  • Organize case files, manage records, assist with Maxient and university systems, prepare documents, and provide administrative support to the Title IX team.
  • Build strong relationships with campus and community partners to connect students and employees with counseling, health, mental health, victim support, legal assistance, and other services.
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Title IX Coordinator.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least four years professional experience in Higher Education or training setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some understanding of best practices of sexual violence prevention, risk reduction, and victim support services is necessary.
  • Ability to organize and maintain workload and exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives is required.
  • Technical skills, including the ability to input data into a tracking system, easily create and manage spreadsheets, and host virtual meetings/trainings.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree and two years professional experience in a Higher Education setting, preferably in the field of Student Judicial Affairs, Training and Development, or Student Conduct.
  • Some graphic design skills would be preferred.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating primary prevention and training on sexual and intimate partner violence.
  • Knowledge of best practices as they relate to institutions of higher education compliance with Title IX and VAWA.

Pay Grade: 50

Typical Starting Pay: $25.75-$33.50 per hour or $53,500-$70,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job‑related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work‑related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
