Job summary

Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks an International Programs & Exchange Manager to oversee faculty-led study abroad programs, advise students, and coordinate international internships. The role supports the Whitmore Global Business Center, with close collaboration across faculty, partner institutions, and campus offices.

The position is part-time (28 hours/week) and located on campus. A bachelor’s degree and experience in international programs are required, with a master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage faculty-led study abroad programs from proposal to post-program assessment.
  • Provide guidance to faculty directors on planning, documentation, and requirements.
  • Maintain program records, itineraries, and compliance documentation with university offices.
  • Advise students on eligibility, applications, and academic planning for exchanges.
  • Manage exchange applications, nominations, compliance, and partnerships with institutions.
  • Teach and administer the Exchange Preparatory course and assess student progress.
  • Coordinate documentation for international internships and approvals.
  • Serve as liaison among students, faculty, partners, and campus offices to ensure smooth operations.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student employees and maintain SOPs.

International Programs & Exchange Manager

The International Programs & Exchange Manager provides professional program management and administrative support for the Whitmore Global Business Center’s international programs, including faculty‑led study abroad programs, student exchanges, and international internships. This position works closely with students, faculty, partner institutions, and university offices to coordinate program operations, support participants, and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. This position is a part‑time, 28 hours per week job.

What you’ll do in this position
  • Manage faculty‑led study abroad programs from initial proposal and approval through program completion and post‑program assessment.
  • Provide administrative guidance and support to faculty directors, including program planning, documentation, university requirements, and operational processes.
  • Maintain accurate program records, itineraries, and compliance documentation while coordinating appropriate university security and logistics offices.
  • Advise students participating in outbound exchange programs on eligibility, application requirements, academic planning, and program preparation.
  • Manage exchange applications, student nominations, compliance documentation, and coordination with international partner institutions.
  • Teach and administer the Exchange Preparatory course, including course instruction, student support, and grading.
  • Advise students pursuing international internships and coordinate required documentation, academic approvals, and university processes.
  • Serve as a primary liaison among students, faculty, international partner institutions, and campus offices to support effective communication and program operations.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student employees and develop and maintain standard operating procedures to support consistent and efficient program administration.

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree, 3‑5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or international programs.
  • Required: Experience managing complex programs and advising students.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree.
  • Preferred: Experience administering study abroad or exchange programs.

Pay Grade: 50 Typical Starting Pay: $25.75 to $33.50 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job‑related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work‑related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
