Job summary

Mid-Del Schools is seeking a Title I Paraprofessional (Tier 1) to support the lead teacher in secondary instruction. You will reinforce lessons by tutoring individuals or small groups, help develop and carry out lesson plans, and help maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment so students can learn effectively.

This non-exempt, safety-sensitive role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus an associate degree or passing work-based tests (WorkKeys/ParaPathways/Praxis) or 48 college

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or higher; or have taken and passed the WorkKeys Test, Parapro/Praxis ParaPathways Test, the Oklahoma General Education Test, or completed 48 hours of collegiate studies at an accredited university. This is a required component for employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and setting up materials/equipment.
• Conduct learning activities with large and small groups of students.
• Communicate and collaborate with the classroom teacher to maintain a safe, productive learning environment.
• Supervise students during instructional periods and non-instructional times (transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, field trips).
• Ensure the classroom is safe and clean; assist with technology-related instructional programs.
• Collaborate to recognize student issues and recommend solutions; develop positive rapport with students.
• Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.
• Oversee duties as assigned.
