Job summary

Jefferson School District 251 is seeking a Title I Paraprofessional to support reading and math development at Jefferson Elementary. You will work with teachers to assess student needs and provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring.

The role requires basic college credits or PARA Pro, strong communication with parents, and reliable attendance. Responsibilities include administering tests, maintaining records, and coordinating tutoring schedules to help students reach their potential.

Qualifications

Two years of college or 32 credits or PARA Pro exam.
Phonetic reading and math instruction skills.
Ability to administer standardized tests.
Demonstrated aptitude for the work.
Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
Computer knowledge including word processing, email, spreadsheets.
Experience preferred but not mandatory.
Board may accept alternatives.

Responsibilities

Administers reading and math tests to identify student achievement.
Collaborates with teacher and administrator to determine instructional needs for Title I students.
Works with small groups and individual students in reading and math.
Maintains student files and tracks progress per guidelines.
Attends in-service classes, meetings, and district programs.
Operates equipment (recorders, projectors, copiers).
Assists students on arrival and departure from tutoring area.
Designs tutoring schedule for Title I students.
Orders materials and supplies through the Building Administrator.
Communicates with parents and families as directed by teacher or administrator.
Maintains records for state and federal reports.
Participates as regular staff and accepts supervision and other duties.
Maintains confidentiality and regular attendance.
