Job summary

Blackstone Valley Vocational Regional School District in Upton, Massachusetts is seeking a Teacher Assistant - Title I. You will support teachers and students in an academic classroom or vocational program, under the supervision of the Academic Curriculum Coordinator.

Responsibilities include planning activities, assisting with small groups or individuals, maintaining records, monitoring discipline, and helping ensure a safe, clean learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with students with disabilities and appropriate accommodations.
• Knowledge of curriculum modification and learning styles.
• ABA certification preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in in-person and remote education models.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with small groups or individual students.
• Guides students in working with other students.
• Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual students.
• Helps maintain individual records for each student.
• Helps maintain discipline under supervision of the teacher.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and clean work/study environment.
• Assists with supervision of students during regular classroom/shop periods.
• Collects data for IEP reviews/reevaluations.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
