Job summary

Woodland School in Southwick, MA seeks a Teacher's Aide/Paraprofessional Class 1 to support students under the supervision of the building principal and classroom teachers. Strong collaboration with special educators and related services staff is essential. Starting date is immediate; required: Associate’s Degree or two years education training or ParaPro;

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or two years post-secondary training in education or related field or successful ParaPro Assessment.
• Preferred: Two plus years of prior work experience.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher to meet the individual needs of all students.
• Provide instructional assistance in selected skill areas.
• Collect data and implement behavior management program for designated children.
• Implement PBIS plans for students.
• Provide inclusionary support in classroom.
• Participate in Professional Development/training as needed.
• Provide support services and accommodations as recommended by related services personnel, therapist and consultants.
• Review and implement modifications and accommodations documented in student’s IEP.
• Provide support to students requiring Assistive Technology to access the curriculum.
• Performs other duties as requested by Building Principal or Director of Special Education.
