Job description

The Title I Secondary Literacy Teacher is responsible for supporting Tier I and Tier II Literacy instruction aligned with Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and effective literacy teaching practices.

This position collaborates with school instructional staff and leadership to provide targeted literacy support without supplanting existing staffing or roles within school district allocations.

Title I Secondary Literacy Teachers focus on effective literacy teaching practices, unpacking and understanding standards, and task-standard alignment within Tier II.

The Title I teacher will serve as a literacy teacher leader, focusing on assisting teachers with differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, and coaching practices to accelerate student learning in accordance with Title I, Part A grant requirements, and PWCS policies.
