Job Title: Title I Interventionist

Job Type: School Year Position (10 months) Year-to-Year Contract (Contingent upon receipt of all anticipated State and Federal funding)

Hours: 26 hours weekly

Pay: $35 per hour

Location: WRSD Elementary Schools - TBD yearly through Federal Allocations

Reports To: Principal or Title I Director

Job Summary

The Title I Interventionist will work closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and other staff to support and enhance the reading and literacy skills of students in an elementary school setting. This role is essential for ensuring that students, particularly those identified as needing additional support under Title I, receive targeted instruction and interventions to achieve academic success. The Interventionist will be responsible for implementing and monitoring literacy programs, administering student assessments, participating in professional development opportunities, and collaborating with the school community to create a supportive learning environment. This position is contingent upon the receipt of State and Federal funding and is reviewed on a year-to-year basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support:
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and deliver targeted ELA instruction, focusing on reading and literacy interventions for students identified under Title I.
    • Provide small group and one-on-one instruction to students who require additional support in reading and literacy.
    • Use data-driven instructional strategies to identify student needs and track progress toward academic goals.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of differentiated instructional materials and resources.
  • Program Implementation:
    • Support the implementation of the school’s Title I reading programs and initiatives.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of literacy interventions and make necessary adjustments to improve student outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and instructional activities.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in professional development with teachers and staff on effective literacy instruction and intervention strategies.
    • Assist teachers in using data to inform instruction and improve student achievement in ELA.
    • Stay current with best practices in literacy instruction and share relevant information with school staff.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively with the school’s administration, classroom teachers, and support staff to coordinate Title I services and interventions.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and ways they can support literacy development at home.
    • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and school-wide initiatives as needed.
  • Family and Community Engagement:
    • Collaborate with families to support students’ literacy development at home, providing resources and guidance as needed.
    • Participate in family engagement activities related to Title I, such as literacy nights, workshops, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with Title I regulations and requirements.
    • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to Title I services and student progress.
    • Attend and participate in Title I meetings and professional learning opportunities as required by the district or state.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certification:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience:
    • Experience working with students in a Title I program or similar setting preferred.
