Schedule/Calendar: Hourly to a maximum of 5 hours/day for up to 180 days
Summary: The Title I Intervention Tutor is responsible for assisting students with learning of core content and skills, primarily in language arts and mathematics.
Essential Functions
- Provides instructional support to students in either their core instructional block or during their intervention block
- Provides students with supportive and supplemental instruction such as reviewing and reinforcing concepts from the ongoing classroom curriculum, as well as skills and concepts identified as student area of need
- Confers regularly with the educational team (classroom teacher, reading specialists, special education teachers) to share student progress and plan for future needs
- Monitors individual student progress under the direction of the educational team
- Maintains accurate records of student progress
- Maintains a log of daily instructional activities for each instructional group
- Assists the educational team in the administration of any testing and preparation of the corresponding documentation involving students in need
Education and/or Certification Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- PA Teacher Certification
